Triumph GT6 MK1, UK registered 1st January 1968 RHD.
A matching numbers motorcar matched to Triumph factory records with original vin tags. Fitted with overdrive and finished in Racing Green with Black upholstery.
This original Conifer Green GT6 was the subject of a body off restoration in Holland in 2000, carried out to a very good standard supported with a photographic record. Shortly after completion, the Irish owner sadly passed away and the GT6 headed back to Ireland as part of an inheritance for the daughter. We purchased the car in 2016 from her and bought it home to the UK. At the time, the indicated recorded mileage of 48,000 appeared to be genuine and could well be correct, however, we are unable to guarantee this.
The GT6 was stripped bare of its interior. Floor pan was dynamatted. The original MK1 seats were fully refurbished with new seat cushions and straps to original pattern. Centre console was re- trimmed along with the dashtop in black. A Burr Walnut re-veneered instrument panel was fitted along with new glove boxes and a re trimmed radio console. New headlining, new door cards and cappings, with new carpets throughout. To complete the interior, a period Moto-lita 14" steering wheel was added together with a chrome face Motorola radio with FM and ipod MP3 connectivity.
The engine bay was also taken apart and completely refurbished. Fully rebuilt Stromberg carburettors, starter motor, dynamo and wiper motor. New master cylinders with drip trays and new brake lines along with refurbished Girling calipers. The suspension was all taken apart, media cleaned and powder coated with all new bushes fitted. Manifolds overhauled with a new stainless exhaust. A Petronix electronic ignition with new leads now assists in providing great reliability.
New 60 spoke wire wheels, hubs, spinners and tyres give the finishing touch.
Since delivering the motorcar to its last owner in 2017, the GT6 has covered less than a thousand miles. It will have a fresh MOT and is already fully serviced ready for the road.
